Purpose
This Policy establishes the principles for the fee payment for programmes within Liffey College. Also, in relation to any refunds for learners and the scenarios in which refunds will be considered.
Fee Policy
It is a requirement of this policy that all Course Fees are paid in full prior to commencing any programme at Liffey College.
The Acceptance Letter from Liffey College can only be issued once the full fee has been paid.
Procedure:
All fees must be paid at least 10 weeks (International Leaners) prior to the Course Start Date of the chosen programme of study.
- Learners are required to apply for their study visa (Visa Required Nationalities) the Evidence of the amount paid must be included with study visa application.
- Prior to travelling (Non-Visa Required Nationalities) the Evidence of the amount paid must be included in your Letter of Acceptance from the College.
- All admissions to Liffey College are subject to availability on a first-come-first-serve basis.
- There is no pre-booking system in place. Places in your intended course will be allocated upon full payment.
- Payment in part does not guarantee a place.
- Funds will remain in the College client visa account until the learner’s study visa application is determined. If the visa application is refused, the fee will be refunded in accordance with fee refund policy at Liffey College.
- Liffey College registration fee is €300 (Subject to Review).
- Considering that choosing the correct programme of study is a very important step, Liffey College assumes and strongly advises that a Learner would have made a thoughtful and researched decision prior to applying for the course.
- If a learner outside Ireland requests to change their course dates after receiving the acceptance letter, a €300 College registration fee will be charged again (subject to review).
- Once the College has informed immigration of a student’s enrollment course dates cannot be changed.
- Learners are registered with Immigration for a specific course and changes cannot be made at will.
- If a renewal learner visa is refused due to late course dates, the student must pay a €300 registration fee to amend the course dates.
- If a learner wishes to change their class time, they must submit a Time Change Request through their learner portal and pay an administration fee of €300 in advance. If the fee difference exceeds €300, the learner will be required to pay the additional amount to cover the cost difference.
(i) Class time changes are subject to availability.
(ii) Class level changes are granted on a first-come, first-served basis and are also subject to availability.
(iii) Learners may change their class time a maximum of two (2) times within a 25-week period.
(iv) Class time changes cannot be made for the same week (only for the following week, starting on the next Monday). - It is the responsibility of each individual to make themselves aware of State laws and all college rules, regulations, policies and procedures before making an application. Learners already residing in Ireland or who have previously been on study visas are expected to ensure their visa will be renewed. Liffey College expects every learner/applicant to be within the law. If a learner/applicant has a visa refused for violation of a State Law such as criminal activity or failure to abide by immigration rules, or providing fraudulent information, then no refund will be due. - All course fees must be paid before the start of the course. Failure to observe the financial regulations of the college may result in your place/s being forfeited. Any learner with an outstanding balance regarding instalments will not be permitted to attend classes.
- A delayed payment fee (non-refundable) will be applied to any payments received after the due date, If applicable.
All fees, refunds and cancellations operates under the jurisdiction of the Republic of Ireland and appropriate Irish Legislation, and not that of the country from which payment has been forwarded from.
CertTESOL (Course):
- (Price excludes) Exam Fees, Trinity College London Certificate Fee.
- The Course Fees must be paid in full which includes a Liffey College registration fee of €300 (non-refundable). All fees & charges are subject to change.
Disputes
Disputes, complaints or appeals relating to fees and all or any ancillary fees, should be directed in the first instance to the Centre Director.

Fee Refund Policy
Course fees or instalments paid are strictly non-refundable, except under the conditions outlined below.
Full-Time Learners
Refunds may be considered in the following cases:
- Visa Refusal: If an international learner is refused an entry or study visa in Ireland.
- Course Cancellation: If the course for which the learner has paid is cancelled by Liffey College and no alternative course is available.
Part-Time Learners
Refunds may be considered if:
- Course Cancellation: The course for which the learner has paid is cancelled by Liffey College with no alternative course available.
Important Notes
- If a course fee is refunded, a college registration fee of €300 will be deducted from the total amount paid.
- Other non-refundable fees will also be deducted from the refund amount, including (but not limited to):
- Medical Expenses Insurance Policy: €100
- Course Fee Protection Insurance Policy (PEL): €100
- Final/End of Course Examination (TIE): €100
- Access to E-Learning/Materials: €30
- Other extras
- For example (in case of a fee refund):
College Registration Fee: €300 | Medical Expenses Insurance Policy: €100

| A total of €500 will be deducted as the fee paidand the remaining amount will be refunded. |
These amounts are subject to change. Please refer to your offer letter to check these amounts.
- No refunds will be provided for learners who withdraw from a programme, whether before or after the start date.
- Visa Renewal Denial: If a learner’s study visa renewal is denied, and they have already booked, started, or completed part of their course, the refund will be calculated on a pro-rata basis, based only on the course fee.
Course Cancellation by Liffey College
If a course is cancelled by Liffey College:
- Learners will be transferred to a similar course (if available at Liffey College) at an equivalent level within the same discipline.
- Arrangements may be made with other institutions to provide the same or similar courses at an equivalent level within the same discipline, according to the fee protection policies.

Submission of Refund Application

Supporting Documentation
Applicants must provide reasons for the refund request along with supporting documentation, where applicable, such as:
Proof of payment
Visa refusal letter
Passport
Other relevant documents
The refund will be processed only upon receipt and verification of the required documentation.
Important: Submitting falsified or fraudulent documents will result in no refund. Liffey College reserves the right to verify the authenticity of all documentation submitted.
Additional Information & Refund Transfer
Liffey College may request additional information if needed.
Refunded fees will be transferred to the learner’s account.
If the payer is not the student, an original authorisation letter from the student permitting the repayment to the payer must be provided.
Liffey College is required to inform the Department of Justice of any refunds issued.
Processing Time
The fee refund process takes FOUR WEEKS (20 working days) from the date all documents have been received and verified.
Application Deadline
Applications for course fee refunds must be initiated within six (6) months of the payment date.
Applications submitted after this timeframe will not be considered.
