A range of learning methods and approaches will be used to promote the practical application of the theoretical concepts covered. Run over a three months period, this part-time programme leads to a QQI Level 6 Training and Development Special Purpose Award – 6S3372. Achievement of this award will enable learners progress to other appropriate programmes leading to awards at the next or higher levels of the National Framework of Qualifications.
Options available:
- Both modules must be completed successfully to achieve the full level 6 award/training qualification.
- However, modules may be taken individually and/or separately on a stand-alone basis as a minor award.

The Certificate in Training and Development (CTD) programme offered at Liffey College is suitable, but not restricted to:
- individuals who have an interest in training and development and who wish to explore it as a career option.
- individuals responsible for in-house design and delivery of training programmes in organisations who wish to gain a formal qualification in training and development.
- managers and team leaders who want to learn about the role of Training and development in their business sectors.
- adult learners who are interested in commissioning or designing training as part of community development projects.
This programme takes a block teaching approach as outlined in the indicative delivery schedule contained below. The delivery is class-based and timed to facilitate working learners in a set, yet flexible way.
- Tutoring – 50 hours (Each Module) – Subject to Change.
- Independent – 100 hours (Each Module) – Subject to Change.
It’s a part time programme.
