INDUCTION POLICY: All new students will undergo a structured induction program that includes an overview of college policies, procedures, class schedules, and facilities, along with a walking tour of Dublin.
OBJECTIVE: To help students familiarise themselves with the college environment, understand essential policies, and gain confidence navigating both academic and non-academic aspects of college life.
A very warm welcome to Liffey College – School of English. The college wish you every success in your in English studies and are delighted that you have chosen to study with us.
Below you will find details of your full orientation schedule, which includes online and on-campus/face to face. Attendance is essential as you will get lots of important information on your academic program, introduced to new friends and experience the fun side of the College.
New Learner Induction will take place during the first week of your programme (Welcome Week).
Your classes will start ONE (1) week after your Programme/Course Start Date/Induction Week.

| DAY 1 (Monday) | Course Start Date (As stated in your Letter of Acceptance) |
| 09:30 – 12:00 (1-Online) | A few days before learners begin their course, Liffey College sends a Welcome Email to confirm their arrival in Ireland. This email requests the following information: • Full Name • ID Number (found at the top of the Letter of Acceptance) • Address in Ireland • Irish Mobile Phone Number This Welcome Email also includes information about the Face-to-Face Induction, the deadline to complete the induction, and the requirements to start classes on time. Confirmation of Arrival Learners must reply to the Welcome Email or send an email to induction@liffeycollege.ie to confirm their arrival in Ireland. The email should include their name, ID number, address in Ireland, and Irish mobile phone number. Once this information is received, a member of our team will contact the learner to begin the Induction Process. If you do not receive an email from the college, please check your spam/junk folder or contact us for assistance. Online Induction & Written Placement Test: Learners will receive a link to complete the Online Induction, which provides important information about: • College Application Process – Learners must provide personal details, including their Irish address and other required information. [See link] • Induction Terms and Conditions – Learners must review and consent to the College’s terms and conditions. [See link] • Written Placement Test – A multiple-choice test designed to assess learners’ English language skills. |
| 13:00 – 14:00 (2-Face to Face) | Learners are asked to come to the college before 13:00 on their start date. This is a good opportunity to get any extra clarification and to meet members of our team. After a warm welcome, an academic staff member will conduct an oral assessment to confirm their appropriate level. This will be followed by an in-person induction where all policies and procedures are explained in English, Spanish, and Portuguese. We encourage participants to ask any questions or raise any concerns they may have. |

| DAY 2 & 3 (Tuesday & Wednesday) | To make your first week of induction more useful, consider taking advantage of the following opportunities: 1 . CV Preparation and Conversation Classes: Enhance your skills by attending these sessions on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, respectively. 2 . Learner Support Services: We provide support for both academic and personal challenges. 3 . One-on-One Assistance: You can schedule an appointment by speaking with a staff member at the College. |
| DAY 3, 4 & 5 (Wednesday, Thursday & Friday) | Deadline for completion: Your online Induction must be completed at the latest by Wednesday the same week as your course start date; otherwise your study start date may have to be postponed. Enrolment Documents: 1. | REGISTRATION WITH IMMIGRATION | Once your induction has been completed & processed, you will receive your Enrolment Documents via emails. Your Immigration registration/GNIB appointment should be scheduled 1/2 weeks after the start of your classes and no more than 180 days after your arrival in Ireland.
